Project: Cast Iron Roll Ring Development

Phase 1 for 6 hours of engineering time will be used to do the following:

1. Meet with you to review the roll ring’s composition, microstructure, and mechanical requirements
2. Identify the casting method required to produce a roll ring with similar composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties.
3. Identify potential casting process parameters for testing.
4. Identify whether post casting heat treatment is needed to meet the microstructure and mechanical properties requirements. If heat treatment is necessary, identify a potential heat treatment.
5. Meet with you as needed to review information and data.
