Michael Pfeifer from Industrial Metallurgists, LLC talks about metallurgy and metals engineering as they apply to product design and manufacturing. This includes discussions related to different alloys, component fabrication processes, alloy selection for component design, supplier evaluation, manufacturing process development, and fixing reliability and quality problems.
The episodes are listed below.
The podcast is available on Anchor, Spotify, Apple podcasts, Amazon Music, and Pocket Casts. The links go to the podcast. Go ahead and subscribe to it.
Some episodes will include discussions with experts from companies that fabricate metal components, join metal components, and make or supply metals. We’ll discuss metallurgical and mechanical design considerations when selecting alloys, component fabrication processes, and component joining processes. All this is important for design for manufacturability to keep costs down, ensure quality, and make it easier to find suppliers willing to make and join your components.
Michael will also share stories about the application of metal failure analysis, metal strength testing, and an advanced understanding of metallurgy and the properties of metals to help people design components and fix component problems.
We hope the information we provide will help people
