About Us 

Industrial Metallurgists, LLC works with Fortune 500 and small companies on a wide variety of projects that require materials engineering considerations.  These decisions arise in a number of circumstances including product design, cost reduction, supplier evaluation, manufacturing process development, manufacturing yield improvement, and quality improvement.

Principal

Michael Pfeifer is the President of Industrial Metallurgists, LLC. He has 17 years experience as a materials engineer working with design, manufacturing, and quality engineers.

Prior to Industrial Metallurgists, Michael worked for Motorola in a variety of engineering capacities. 

He has a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Northwestern University and is a Professional Engineer, Licensed in Illinois.

He is also active in several technical organizations including ASM International, Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

Associates

Our network includes professional materials engineers and scientists who are specialists in their areas of expertise.  We also work with companies that provide failure analysis and material analysis support for metals, polymers, and ceramics.
